“Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.” - Psalm 77:18-19 NIV
God ALWAYS knows and there is nothing outside of His reach.
The line "though your footprints were not seen." Preaches to me in so many ways. First it speaks to the fact that we don't always see God in our situations, in our walks and in our journey and that's often due to our perspective, something we need to shift within ourselves and second, it can also speak into the fact that so often we don't see the line of path, we don't understand how we are supposed to get from A to B and just like the Israelites, sometimes we see a dead end while God is already seeing how he's going to part the "Red Sea."
I am a very detailed person so I have definitely been in seasons where I have lived out my safe and good ideas but I've gotten to the point now where all I want to do is walk out the confronting and challenging GOD ideas. Knowing that even when I cannot hear Him, He is there.
It's funny that even though most of us would never say "God makes mistakes..." our actions often times do say that. When we question our purpose, when we question our path and when we refuse to submit and make our thoughts obedient to Him.
Just like in the scripture above, God has not lead us to where we are by mistake. He knew exactly what he wanted to do even though it seemed impossible at the time. He could see into where their flesh had been blind and he opened the Red Sea and they walked safely though it and then look back on this time and sing of it years later in the verses above.
