I went through an interesting season of dread, which didn't end until I met the person that this season would preach to. Isn't that funny? I almost felt like God wanted to, through me, show them that there is still hope. Here is that story and revelation. “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Take captive every thought”, a line that preaches to me at new levels and depths every time I read it because our minds & our thoughts are sometimes the greatest battles fields we'll face. There have been days when I have woken up in the morning, and I thought about all of the dreams I have walked away from, I have thought about how each major faith step has been met with extreme trial, whether emotional, physical, familial, financial, and before you know it my anticipation for the very NEW thing that God wants to do in me starts to turn into dread, my confidence to self-doubt. I start to put myself in a cage, feeling things that God never intended me to feel. Feeling inadequate in the areas that God has called me to even though I know that I am justified in His name. And He has approved and qualified me. All of a sudden you start to dread the tasks, conversations and duties of your day to day. Dread telling your family that you won’t fulfill their dreams for you, dread telling your friends that you won’t be able to see them for another weekend, dread getting up in the morning to work out, dread doing chores, dread leading your teams, etc. I'm sure you could insert any dread there. Have you ever been in those situations? Where your expectation suddenly turns into anxiety? It usually takes root in self-doubt or some deeper rooted insecurity that only the Holy Spirit can reveal to you. So how do we get out of it, how do we overcome? We can overcome because God overcame the grave when He sent His son Jesus. Because where we are weak, He is made strong. We overcome by focusing on God’s power and the very real authority that he has imparted upon us through His Holy Spirit because It is only when you center your attention on the one who gives you life, when you worship, pray and believe in our God and His promises to us, that you can confidently stand on God! Who he is and His promises to us. God of the Universe LOVES ME AND HE LOVES YOU TOO! You are His favorite and I am His favorite too. Sometimes you need to profess these fundamental thoughts out-loud letting the devil know you KNOW your worth. You know it’s at the foot of the cross and you refuse to believe his lies. Even when your circumstances don’t make sense. Hope you enjoyed the read and the next time you start to dread your day to day, remember that God is with you. He loves you and he wants more for you than where you are. Remember those feelings are not of God so take captive every thought and make it obedient to Him.

GOD IS SO GOOD! Thanks for reading, TK Unit <3
