Based in Downtown Los Angeles, For The PĒØPŁËŠ Church started with a word from God and a stirring in the hearts of Travis and Kyra Gold for the local church and the City of LA. Made up of a diverse family of PĒØPŁËŠ, joined together by the work of the Holy Spirit, they come together equally unworthy by the saving grace of the cross with one agenda, Jesus.

 

He is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word (Hebrews 1:3). He is the firstborn over all of creation, all things have been created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:15-16). Our entire existence is securely planted in Him as understanding and living in the truth of Christ is the most important thing we can ever do. 

 

We are a church loving church. The greatest and most important reason we love the church is that God loves the church. In fact, He died a sinners death paying the penalty that was ours, to purchase it with His own blood. He calls the church His Body.  He calls the church His Bride and because of this, we love His church both locally and globally. 

 

Our heart, first and foremost, is to be a God-centered church with Christ as the head. A church that operates out of the overflow of love for God and in turn does not neglect the ministry of people. 

 

The Bible teaches us the necessity of church. We believe that the church is irreplaceable and that the Body of Christ cannot be substituted by other types of community. God in His infinite wisdom has chosen to administer the Gospel to our souls through other people. We believe that Godly community in the context of His Church cannot be neglected. You will hear us say things like “take the risk of being known” because if we are not known, we cannot be encouraged, and if we are not encouraged, we will not endure and what a shame it would be to give up on the very thing Christ gave His life to create. 

 

We believe that a Christ-centered community endures one another, encourages one another, helps one another, cares for one another, restores one another and edifies on another by the power of His Spirit for the sake of His Name, for the sake of His Gospel and for the sake of His glory.

 

As a church we believe that we are humbled by those who are hard to love, we are warned by those who fall away, we are prepared to lovingly affirm the truth about the Bride where there has been hurt, and we are committed to learning to love what God loves with zeal.
